Child of God, Servant of the Devil

By: Joseph H. Murray

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law” (1John 3:4).

The question or the point we are in pursuit of is, can a person commit sin after he is born of God? Yes! But every sin committed by a Christian will have to be repented of by the committer and forgiveness granted by God or the Christian will remain unclean before God and will perish. Although he or she is a child of God, in the meanwhile they are sinning, they are servants of the Devil and there is a payday of death to be administered in the end.

Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin” (John 8:34).

“And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass” (Rev. 21:21).

“And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass” (Rev. 21:18).
