God Is Weary

By: Joseph H. Murray

Jer. 3:14; Jer. 15:6; Rom. 7:4; 2Cor. 11:2

God is weary of our repenting. Or, He is weary of our getting into a condition of which we have to repent. In other words, He is sick of our sinning.

You ask me, “How do you know how God feels?” I know God is tired or weary of something when the Holy Ghost is grieved, and we who have the Holy Ghost can feel when the Spirit of God is grieved. I hope God never despairs of us spiritual citizens of Jerusalem as He did the natural Jews. Jeremiah described it in these words: “For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest? Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee...; I am weary with repenting” (Jer. 15:5–6).
